I Have an outstanding student loan for 20 yrs. I have made several attempts to pay it. I called the number on my credit report and they told me they had no idea what I was talking about. I then called Pennsylvania Higher Education and they told me thee is no record of a student loan.( this was about 3 yrs ago) on July 17, 2002 I got a threatening phone call from a collection agency demanding payment of $5,000. I offered $2,500 and they told me no. Do I not have any rights. Why can't I just pay the Pennsylvania Higher Education.
