But we should, every one of us, write a letter by snail mail to our reps and sens in Washington to lobby for the right to document in this manner. Since most of these organizations block their number from caller ID, it is our only way to DOCUMENT such abuses.

Do it now, before it becomes a "hot" issue for any reason. Your letter will get "extra" credit as an opinion. Wait until someone litigating in pro per tries to enter truly damaging material in evidence and gets burned, and the tally drops to 1 per item.
