I have 2 accounts still within SOL for suit, an overdrawn checking acct (<$1000), and a collection on an apartment ($1200ish) (both refused to give validation when asked) Need to know if my car would be able to be taken for payment if they decided to file suit. I have an '01 financed in my fathers name, but titled in both names. I am a single mom of 2, make less than $25, 000 yr including child support, rent my house, and everything in my rent house was paid cash, no real "valuables" (20" TV most valuable thing, no open CC accts, (those all are beyond SOL for suit) I want to try to make payments on the checking acct, once I get statements on the acct showing charges. The CA for the apartment refused validation, refused to give name and address of company, refused to give phone number. But the charges they did quote over the phone were BS. So, they can wait. But I really want to clean up my credit and start over. I know that I don't need a judgement on my credit (which excluding the apartment should be clear next year)so I am going to try to clear this bank up, but just wanted to know about being judgement proof, just in case. Sorry this is sooo lengthy. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
