Well, they would apparently have the choice of suing you either in TX or NC. Generally, the SoL for whatever state they bring suit in will be the one that applies. It appears that the TX SoL is 4 years, but I don't know for sure, thats just what it shows on this site. (One of the attorneys in my firm is a NC lawyer as well, and she confirmed that the SoL is 3 years in NC)

When you made that last payment 2 years ago, was the account current at the time? If not, then the time to count against the SoL may still be sometime earlier. Generally, the SOL will start to run when you are first delinquent with a payment without getting it current again. But like I said before, you need to be able to prove when it happened.
