8 yr old judgement

Hi! Just found out that an old judgement (8yrs) has been renewed i guess. I live in Calif. It is for a crdit card debt. Now i get al letter from county tax office stating that a lien may or may not have been put on our property! After 8 years can they actualy put a lien on my property?
