HIGHLY unlikely that an original creditor would buy it back. Why would they want back something they couldn't get in the first place :)

It would just be resold to another collector. That's why original creditors don't even deal with you once it's been sold to a collection agency. And you'll hear about people having had an account that's been with several different collection agencies.

The collection agency can definitely sue. If they couldn't sue that would make their wanting to collect debts less appealing to them. Meaning the original creditors would get stuck with it.
