I have a problem that I am being told different things to fix the problem. I am in the military and I pay rent to my land lord. I pay him two checks on the first of the month. Just because the military splits up the amount they give us for rent in two payments 1/2 in the 1st paycheck and the other half on the 15th. We have lived in the house for almost a year doing the same every month on the first. I had been giving him a check for the 1st to cash and postdating a check for the 15th to cash. Just recently he took the check for the 15th and cashed it on the 13th even though it was postdated for the 15th. Because of this it bounced four checks costing me $120.00 in fees. I asked my land lord about it and he said he was sorry but he can't cover the $120.00. So basically to bad. I was resently told that Florida just changed their laws about postdated checks. That from what I am being told is not only illegal to accept a postdated check but, it is also illegal to cash the check. I tried to fix this problem and get the fee money back but the hank said they are allowed to do this I am trying to find out what is true and what can be done. I am tired of people and banks treating me in situations were there is a problem and it has nothing to do with me but, something they did. I am tired of them basically telling me well we have our money were are sorry we can not help you. Please give me some insite and knowledge of fixing this problem.
