yes, both cars are in my name, however they have encumbrances on them (by a friend). he tells me that if the creditor ever calls him, he would need $7,000 to pay off the cars. obviously, the creditor does not know the encumberances are from a friend. would it do me any good to write up a back-dated promissory note ??
