Validating Paid Collections

I paid off some collections last year (medical bills, utility bills from about 3 years ago when I had an unemployed stretch). I was naive about credit and assumed the paid collections would look better than open collections. I never asked for a deletion of the reporting when I paid or negotiated anything else. I have been absolutely current with everything in over 1 1/2 years, but these still continue to drag me down. I want to try to get the CAs to validate them. Is there a sample letter somewhere specifically dealing with paid collections? All the ones I can find say something along the lines of "I believe I was a victim of identity theft" or "these debts are not mine", etc.... That simply is not true. They are my debts, I fully admit to that and I paid them, but I'm hoping the CA won't validate in time and I can have them removed from my CR. I don't want to send a misleading or false letter. Thanks.
