Have the creditors you settled with deleted the derogatories on your credit reports as they agreed to?
Did they say they would be issuing you a 1099 for the unpaid balance?
Are the collection agents who have your accounts licensed in Alaska?
Before you make any decisions, you should make sure about exactly what your position is with the accounts you settled. Frequently, people THINK they are rid of a debt because they have made a settlement arrangement, only to find out that the balance has been sold to a collection agency who will continue collection actvities, and keep it on your credit report.
