If the accounts were assigned, they may be returned to the OC, who then may sue, or sell the accounts to another ca.
The idea of suing, and getting a judgment, is to collect on a debt. It costs them $$ to file, they have to get an Or. licensed lawyer, and the first thing they do is pull your reports to see if you have attachable assets, or are working full time.
If you keep good records, and are sued, you may be able to find some area where they didn't follow correct procedures, or you may decide to file BK, or you may get an inheritance from a rich uncle. All I am saying is, you are in a bad situation, and the best thng, in my opinon,is to get the pressure off you. Even if the accounts ARE returned to the OC, once they ave been with a CA the OC is bond by the FDCPA rules, so they will not try to collect themselves, they will either sue or sell.If they sell, they have to make sure the CA is legal to collect in Or.
