Ken,
Info on Capital Aquisitions and Management Co. (CAMCO) can be found in a lot of places.

My questions..
- How old is the debt they want you to pay ? When was the last time you made payment on it ? It could be beyond your state's SOL (their specialty).

- How much is the total ? If you settle with them for less than the total, they will turn around and sell the balance to someone else to harrass you for !

The only way to find out what's up is to send them a validation demand, with a questionairre attached to garner as much information as you can. Their threat that you only have 10 days to settle is a tactic. My fiance sent them a settlement offer, they agreed, but he never paid them. They keep calling saying the settlement is 'void' and he must now pay in full. However, he also just got a settlement offer letter from THEM in the mail.. so their 'time limit' is their wedge to get you to pay.
