Is this in Magistrate's Court or in the regular County Court (or Circuit Court)? Either way, you should take the bill with you and assert the SOL defense. If you don't do it now, they won't let you later. They will say that you waived the defense. If you go in and deny the debt, the judge will be extremely displeased with you if you show him the bill afterwards. poor lawyer, esq.
