What would happen if I paid the oc instead of the ca?

There is a bill of mine I have posted on several times that I have been trying to settle with a CA. When we agreed on a dollar amount the snag was they refused to remove the collection from my report. They validated with what I thought was a pretty good validation but I challeged it with the bureau anyway because although they had a lot of documentation they had not produced a signed contract or or reciept of services. I wrote the bureau and told them what was provided and claimed that since a signed promise of some sort was not provided that I didn't think it was a legitimate validation and so I wanted it removed from my report. They removed it. I got the letter today. In my negotiations the ca told me that the oc would settle for 15 % less than the principal balance and the ca would take 100$ off the inerest. What would happen if I bypassed the ca and paid the doctor the amount he agreed on? Would the ca have any recourse? What are the odds of the oc accepting money from me instead of the ca? The ca had told me that there was no way possible to remove this from my report, but its gone. Paying the oc would be like the ultimate coup for me as there is nothing I would enjoy more than burning the ca. What do you think?
