Negative information on a credit report has nothing to do with a states SOL for being sued over a debt. The 7 years is constant across the board regardless of where you live.

As to CCCS, you're right it looks best if you can handle it yourself. While you're in CCS in will be noted on yourcredit report that you are in debt management. But, when the program is completed, the notation should be dropped. I doubt anyone will extend credit knowing you are having trouble paying for the credit you already have.

Never heard of Financial Rescue but, it wouldn't suprise me if that was the case.
