I went to the summary court hearing 8/22 regarding the back regime fees owed on my condo. I had made a formal answer to the original summons & complaint back in May stating that I did owe the amount stated. I and the attorney for the association were both upset to discover that the magistrate had never notified them of my answer. Their atty told the judge we would not have been in court if they had received my answer, we would have been negotiating a "confession of judgement" instead. Judge Earle simply said, "Oh, I'm sorry. I thought someone would have notified you of her answer". Anyway the attorney was very nice and split that day's court cost with me & the assoc and only charged 1/3 of her normanl rate. Anyway, now there is an official judgement of almost $4000 standing and accruing interest at 12%. At least that's what we think the rate is, the judge did not know what the law was for the interest rate! Hopefully the condo will sell soon. Thank you for your kind assistance.
