Question from fiance regarding repo-please advise

My fiance has a mobile home which is in the process of repossession. The finance company, Conseco, has notified him that he will be responsible forever for this debt (about $30,000) unless he files bankruptcy. The only other bad thing on his credit is a vehicle reposession which was in both his and his exwife's name 4 years age. He has no other debt and owns nothing except his vehicle. His parents are advising him to file BK but surely there is another option. Any advice?
