We have had a lot of this sort of thing lately, quite a few posts on the subject.

This is a scam con game. They have no legitimate claim to collect on anything. They get hold of old records and call trying to shake a few $$ loose from gullible people. Their main goal however, is to get people to give them their checking account # or other information so they can steal big time -it is also a way of helping them with their id theft business.

If they call again, try to get a name and address and telephone #, report them to the FTC. the Fl. Dept. of Ag. consumer fraud division, your phone company's tel. fraud solicitation hotline and if neccessary, your local sheriff's dept fraud dept.

If you can't get a name address & ph #, the next time they call, ask them to speak up a little louder and more clearly, as the recording and trace of their call wasn't quite good enough for the sheriff's dept. last time they called.

You should also double check your credit reports, put a 90 day fraud alert on, and opt out for solicitations.
