: : : Does anyone have a contact number for this Gulf State Credit Place or know the steps to take to get this off my report????

: : If the debt is yours, offer to pay them 1/2 and make a stipulation that it is to be taken completely off your credit. Creditors may say they can't legally do that. Don't believe that because it isn't true. The law says debts may be reported for "up to" 7 years, meaning at the companies own discretion may remove such after a month or year. Second, if they don't have your social security number, never give it to them. This only aids them in reporting it to the credit bureau in the case you file a dispute. A lot of credit bureau's in a dispute verify 2 of 3 items for it to remain on your credit. Name, Address (or former address) and SSN. If they are only able to verify one of these items, it generally gets deleted. So my recommendation is to settle and make it a point once you settle to get everything in writing. Best of Luck

: atlanta, ga. 30348. if you send them a letter
: send it certified, return receipt requested.
