It is useless to write to the OC, the account has long since been SOLD to the CA.
If you can't pay,and don't qualify for BK, then you may or may not have a judgment filed against you. If your credit report indicates you have assets that can be attached, a job where wages can be garnished,or other indications it is worth while for them to sue, they will do so.
