I had an account go delinquent on 12/15/1994. It was a vehicle purchase that ultimately ended in repossession. The dealer reported the default and outstanding balance to a collection agency 10/1997, three years after the original deliquency. I have disputed this several times with Experian providing them with the same documents that the collection agency provided me showing the validity of the account. It clearly shows when the account went delinquent yet they are continuing to report the account after the 7 year statute has run out. Is my only recourse to litigate this?
