I have been working with Cambece Law Office since last September paying of a debt originally with Chase now with New Vision Financial, LLC. The original debt was $2297. I have paid it down to $1493. Everything seemed to be going along fine until I tried to get preapproved for a home. The mortgage company wanted documentation of my agreement so I asked Cambece for written confirmation of our agreement to provide the mortgage company. They called me at work and said if I can apply for a mortgage, I can pay them in full today. I said I couldn't do that and said I wanted to keep the payment arrangement. He said that he would consider that a refusal to pay and they would proceed to the next course of action. I told him I couldn't talk about it at work and he said he wasn't going to wait until I got off work. He said I could get a mortgage after I pay them. I read on Budhibbs.com that I should send a C&D letter and forget about it. I don't know what to do.
