Apparently, my husband has an old debt from 1993/94 that we did not know about until recently. I went to a jewelry store to buy my daughter a class ring. They remembered the name from years ago and have now started calling us to resolve this debt that we didn't even know about. We were living two hours away and recently moved back to the area. Nobody ever contacted us to say that there was an outstanding balance on a purchase that my husband had made for me. Now they call and leave a message and if we aren't home, they call my mother-in-law looking for my husband. Is this legal?
