So if I get a collection notice on an account with the usual 30 days to dispute and it's still within SOL, should I just ignore it? Or should the validation request with a dispute of ID theft be sent? Or does that still trigger thoughts of suing to get you to settle?

I'm just wondering because I got a collection notice on an account and sent out the validation/possible ID theft dispute letter to them twice and heard nothing. Sent the C&D after that and THEN they replied that they would investigate my concerns. Just wondering if I made a mistake by replying to their collection notice with the validation/dispute letters.

Thanks WhyChat
