Paid the OC although the debt was at CA

I had a doctors bill that went to collections. I was able to pay the bill in full to the doctors. The item was reported to the CRA's. Now that the bill was paid(to the OC) my report is showing paid collection and still by the CA. I read in a post that was archived that paying the OC, by default, voids the contract betweent the OC and CA.That paying the OC removes all permissble purpose from the CA. Is this true? I would like to dispute that they don't have the rights to report it any longer nor report it as a paid collection and that it needs to be removed. Please help. Thank You
