I'm a California resident with 6 outstanding debts that were either sold, charged-off, sent to collections. Last time I made a payment on these accounts was on 6-98. I have never made another payment since. How can I clean up my credit? Thinking of hiring an attorney to negotiate low pay-off to get accounts deleted. Will this work. I've also noticed that once these acounts were sold, the new party changed last payment. Is this illegal? Can this be a bargaining tool as they did something illegal? Also, I have no judgements against me. Has the (SOL officialy passed? Please offer any and all advice that may arise. I have an old credit report from last year that shows when accounts would fall off. My current report shows different.
Thank you,
Anthony
