If you were available for service after you car accident, that is, not hospitalized or in another State for some period of time, you are beyond the SOL. As to negotiating for deletions,I personally do not think it works from a cost effective viewpoint, If you take those $$$ and apply it towards your down payment, you will be way ahead.

If you are buying a home. as soon as the ca's see you applying for a mortgage, they will come out from under the muck and have a feeding frenzy.

In my opinion, you are better off trying to get them removed from your reports by requesting validation/disputing/and-or sending the SOL letter in my website, with an additional paragraph, " Continued collection activity, including reporting of accounts that are no longer legally collectible to consumer credit reporting agencies has been held to be a violation of the Statute of Frauds".

I will be posting that Court decision in it's entirety on my website,as soon as I can see if there are any other similar cases.
