Hello,
This is probably a silly question but do you send letters of verification only to collection agencies or can you send them to the original debtor as well? I have about 4 collection accounts on my record as well as about 4 "negative" items from creditors that have not gone to collections. I'm a little confused about the FDCPA and exactly who/what it covers. What do they have provide in those situations-just something w/ my signature accepting the debt?
Also-should you start by trying to verify the debt directly through the CA or original debtor, or should you just dispute it through the CRA? There's a few items that the CRA's are saying they verified so I was wondering if I could try to verify it myself, and if unable to do so, then get it deleted?
So far I've just been working on my Experian report and have had some success. I now have 6 positive items instead of the 2 I started off with!
