Why Chat,
This statement, " Continued collection activity,(including reporting of accounts that are no longer legally collectible to consumer credit reporting agencies has been held to be a violation of the Statute of Frauds".)
Does this mean you can request to have it removed? By law it stays on for 7 years from last payment from the standpoint of credit reporting agencies. right? Can I send the credit reporting agency a letter insisting that it be removed since no legal action can be brought against me? Also, if I can't do that. Say, I settle for a small amount. What needs to be in writing so they don't re-sell the remaining portion? Im just trying to cover all the basics. If I put a large downpayment down on a home, and finance the rest they'll be coming out of the woodwork. How do I cover myself?

thanks,
Anthony
