Money Owed on Credit Card by Friends

Friends needed a loan, we took a cash advance on credit card and transferred the $ amt to a low rate finance charge for them to repay back cash advance. Have had several problems in making sure payments are there on time, long story short, cash advance was $4,000 + 100.00 service fee, 4 years ago, balance is $3951 due to their lack of paying on time, finance charges and late fees, etc.... Need advice or answers to questions. Can we put a lein on any of their assets? Any other ideas we can do to help get this paid on time and paid off asap - demanding payment. Very frustrated about all of this. thankyou to whomever responds.
