If they file a lawsuit against you, and get a judgment, then yes, your wages can be garnished. However there are sizeable exemptions from the garnishment, in general, you would have to have "take-home" pay after taxes and ss & health insurance benefits of at least $200. before they can take anything, then it would be only 25% of the amount over the exemption.
