Is it legal? Yes! You had written notice of the terms and conditions, you didn't read them.
Is it ethical?probably as much so as cc companies freezing accounts, refusing to renew and raising rates for customers who have NEVER been a DAY late, but had a bad report from some other account on their credit reports, EVEN IF IT WAS AN ERROR !
