If that application is signed, they got you. Discover card owes you no favors. They can assign or sell the debt to whoever they please.
I'd say the next step is to see if the CA is operating legally in Mt. If the SOL on a cc debt in Mt. is 5 years, you may well best be served by keeping a low profile.
