staute of limitations and gifted money

a friend of mine was given some money 5 years ago, not borrowed, and it was cash, no note, nothing signed. Now the person who borrowed it is upset with my friend. They want their money back. Is there a statute of limitations on gifted money. It is in the state of Minnesota. I appreciate any help. thanks!
