I had a CA send their validation. Its for a DR. bill. They and I are in Idaho. This is my bill. They want $884.00. $520 princ and $364 interest. I had paid about it down from $1270. There is one year left on sol. I have to clear it up for a mortgage. For validation they sent a copy of discharge instructions from hospital (no mention of payment) that was signed by my wife. A Hospital admission paper signed by the Dr. that has a box checked that says "consent signed" but no mention of fees and no signature by me or my wife. A copy of a first statement from Dr. showing original amount. ($1270). A copy of service agreement between them and Dr. On questionaire where I asked if debt was assigned or purchased they wrote "confidential". I would like to settle this hopefully for less than they are asking and get them to remove it from my credit. They haven't produced anything I signed where I promised to pay. Am I in a position where I can negotiate? If so what would be reasonable for me to offer? I don't know how many of these I will have to pay but I have to make my money stretch as far as it can. what are your thoughts? Thanks!
