That's pretty good validation. They can prove someone was in the hospital, they have a statement from your doctor and, a history of your payments. Personally, I think if they got aggressive and sued you, they'd win. They proved they have permission from the doctor to service the account.

This is something you'll just have to pay if you want a mortgage. Why not offer $400 and see what happens?
