I am by no means an expert but in my own search have found that these credit repair services can be expensive. Also I don't know how you would verify that they are legit, and if they open a can of worms with your creditors what recourse would you have? Check out why chats website, study the posts on this sight and educate yourself on the FDCPA and FCRA. You can do for yourself anything a repair service can do. If you have questions there is a lot of knowledge and experience on this board. Linda, Why Chat, Observer and others have all helped me immensely. I'm almost done with my issues. Many items have been deleted from my report. Others have been corrected. And the ones I have had to deal with, the above mentioned people have shown me how to solve my problems with in ways more beneficial to myself and my report. Finally, and most importantly, I am gaining an understanding of how credit reporting and debt collection works and how to protect myself from the problems they can create. Its worth the effort, and to the people who have helped me I am eternally indebted and grateful. I hope this helps you and wish you well no matter what route you choose.
