What kind of papers were you served on the repo-(if any)?
Have you kept your records?

Generally speaking, if they did not follow your State's repo laws, regarding notice, sale, redemption etc. They cannot obtain a deficience judgment. If they cannot obtain a deficiency judgment, they cannot legally collect from you.
