All right, I understand that "chattel goods" are moveable property, i.e. personal property, as opposed to "real property", land, buildings, etc. What I am attempting to understand is that would a court issue a fi.fa. instead of a garnishment first? I understand that Sheriff's sales are not the best way to satisfy a judgment. Are fi.fa.s used when the judgment-debtor has no income subject to garnishment, i.e. can the Sheriff come and basically "clean out" his home?
