OK....he's in wisconsin and the place is in oregon. they have given all the information about themselves....they are out of oregon and have sent letters and are past the part of giving us the information.(they are a collection agency working for the major credit card that he had) they just want their money.
but, the problem w/shutting down the acct. is, is that they said that he's looking at a felony for bouncing a check over state lines......but if he puts a stop pay on it......(not sure if he can do it like that, because they sent it through once already) it won't be bouncing...they just simply won't have a valid check any longer. can they prosecute him for that?

so now he's got to call them tomorrow and try to deal w/them. they have threatened prosecution and can you tell me HOW he should go about talking a settlement agreement, before they take him to court? what is something they would actually settle for? the debt isn't past the statuate of limitations by no means...believe me i checked that out. the collector is out of portland orgegon...please let me know if you want the name....
