There are formats to use for offering a settlement. Sample letters can be found at www.creditinfocenter.com and on www.creditnet.com. Both are free, but at creditnet you must 'register' to get to the sample letters in the discussion area. I don't know if WhyChat offers any settlement letters, but links to his site can be found in the 'newbie questions' post here.
