Are you current on your student loans? If so, I strongly urge you to seek legal advice on BK.Ch7.

If they get a default judgment, although they can't "take" anything you have NOW,a Tx judgment is good for 10 years, and is renewable. So, if you need to sell your home, refinance, or, if you are NOT a homeowner now, ever purchase a home and get a mortgage, or buy a car, you will have serious problems in getting financing.
Plus, Tx is a community property State, which means your spouse, (or future spouse if you aren't married) will be eqully liable on the judgment.
When you get out of this mess, are back on your feet, and have some $$ to spend, give it to a worthwhile charity instead of the rollercoaster stock market.
