You do have the risky option of letting the card default and praying it goes to collections so you can negotiate a settlement, since you seem to want to pay.

Thing with a settlement is they want that lump sum. Some will go for as low as 30% and some all the way up to 85%.

Also, you could talk to the credit card company now BEFORE default and see what they can do for you. They may very easily have a hardship program that will drastically lower your monthly payments. They'd rather be getting a little as opposed to having to charge it off. Unless you got an arsehole company you're dealing with.

Lots of options. Most depend upon whether or not you have money or not.
