Ok, you're within the SOL for being sued. So you have a few choices as well. Some get sued for this amount and I've seen some not get sued.

You're in a state JUST like mine with the 6 year SOL and 10 year judgement.

(1) If you don't have it to pay out..IGNORE the calls, lol. Sounds crazy, but there's no need to talk to them and incrimidate yourself on the phone if you can't shell over the money. That would only help them build a case against you if they did take it to court.

Also, never ever give them checks over the phone. If they called tomorrow and said they'd take $2 but you had to do it over the phone...DON'T. frequently made newbie mistake. They'll suck you're account dry.

If you have money to negotiate a settlement then you could try that. But they want a lump sum always (with a family I doubt you have that, lol, I have one and know). If you wanted to try a settlement there are letters for this, but if you don't have the money to pay them a lump sum, just lie low or try for bankruptcy for peace of mind.

Really in my opinion your family comes first. If paying them means ya gotta go hungry...then sorry they don't get paid!! I always play psychologist to people with a family because I understand and am home with my 2 year old now. I remember how low this got me down..I'm talking extremely so be strong for your family. They can't kill you, lol, so don't worry about it.
