Affinity means you were issued the card as part of a group or program in which you are a member.
Ex. A card made available to the alumni of a college you attended. First USA issues cards for AOL subscribers. I play duplicate bridge and I got a First USA card that reads "Memeber of the American Contract Bridge League".
Boy, having Plantnum on your statement would sure lead me to believe I had a "Platnium" card but, you'll be bound by the terms of service when you applied and received the card. Look through your paperwork and see what it says.
