I too just pulled that thread and it looks like everyone TOLD YOU to try to negotiate a deal with them even at the hearing.
No one told you to let them garnish your wages! But they are correct once it hit the point of going to court you would have to pay something. I also didn't see where you were told to pay $1200. You can pull the posts from July and see for yourself.
I could easily have followed the directions given in that thread and have come to the conclusion to work out a settlement there at court..Which is what you were told and what you did. But like they all said you were going to have to pay something.
Some people only see what they want. You sound irate because you had to pay them anything at all in my opinion.
No one on this board is a lawyer and you were presented with excellent OPTIONS, not DEFINITES.
I'm sure once you came to this board you found out more for free on your own that you knew before. Just like in school, church, wherever. When you are told something you go from there and do some researching on YOUR OWN as well.
Right today if I get sued, I can't point my finger at this board..I CAN point the finger at myself for letting a debt default.
