I posted messages on the 3rd of September regarding a judgement agaisnt me 12 years ago. Anyeay, I contacted the attorney in charge of collection and she told me I have 2 options. 1. Take the wage garnishment at about $50.00 a week for the whole balance due or 2. Negoitate for 1/2 but it will have to be paid in one lump sum. See, I don't want to pay the whole balance because 1/2 of this balance belongs to my ex-husband (where abouts-unknown at this time). I wanted to pay 1/2 at monthly payments but the attorney said NO. What should I do? Suing my ex-husband would be worthless and cost me more money in the long run so that option is out. How come I can not make monthly payments on my own for 1/2 the balance? If it comes down to a wage execution I will be forced to quit my job because I refuse to pay for the entire balance. I will not ask to borrow the money either. What are my legal options?
