I had an experience with these people - but I caught them in time. This is what happened. I applied for a credit card on-line. They called me at home all "nice" - and asked a bunch of typical questions... one of those questions being if I had a checking account. I told them "yes". They then said they wanted my account number and bank routing number... just for "verification purposes". I started laughing... I told them not just "no" but "HELL no!" was I going to give them that information. That, my dear, is how they were able to charge your account. I reported them to everyone I could think of... including the FBI for attempted fraud. The bank themselves claim that it wasn't them. The area code used was even in a different state. So BE CAREFUL. NEVER GIVE OUT ANYTHING "JUST FOR VERIFICATION PURPOSES" or you WILL get burned.
