You aren't the center of the universe. That can be a big relief if you let it sink in.

I have done all kinds of things to find out just how much attention people pay to ther people - they really don't pay any at all, You can wear something ridiculous - everyone is so concerned about their own appearance that they won't even notice. Try it and see.

I used to be very self-conscious and thought everyone was paying attention to me. I did a few experiments, at someone's suggestion, and discovered (to my relief) they hardly even knew I existed.
