Need Help with charge off. Please

About 2 years ago I had to turn a car over because I could not make the payments anymore. The car company made the accout a charge off. My report says the balance is 10,000.00 Ive been contacted by a collection company last year and they said they would give me 35% off the total with payments. I never called them back. I havent recieved anything since then. Should I try to contact this company and make a deal? I dont want BK. I can make payments now that my job is stable again. I just dont want this nippin me in the butt down the road more than it already has. Any suggestions?
